Microneedling is one of the most comfortable and least invasive ways to rejuvenate the skin,

Micro-needling involves several tiny, sterile needles in a pen-like device that are moved over the skin, penetrating to a specific depth and creating microscopic punctures that are invisible to the naked eye.

Micro-needling has several benefits for aging and damaged skin as well as areas of thinning or sparse hair on the scalp, including:

  • Reducing the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and other visible skin imperfections
  • Inducing the production of new collagen to improve the strength and structure of skin
  • Promoting the generation of fresh, new skin cells without irritating the skin
  • Providing quick treatment that is easy to fit into any busy schedule
  • Offering a more natural, less extensive alternative to hair restoration by needling the scalp and using PRP to stimulate the growth of hair follicles.

While micro-needling is effective as a standalone treatment, here at The Beauty Lab, we pair it with PRP to optimize results. We proudly use Eclipse PRP™ products for these treatments.

What is PRP and How Does it Work?

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, has seen much success in the areas of orthopedics and sports medicine, and is taking the cosmetic world by storm for its ability to aid in regenerating fresh, new skin and tissues. Created from a small sample of the patient’s own blood that is spun in a centrifuge and separated into its separate components, PRP is the liquid portion of the blood infused with a high concentration of platelets – the cells responsible for clotting that also contain a high number of natural growth factors.

During the micro-needling process, the skin is opened up and able to more readily absorb products, including PRP. When infused into the skin during treatment, the PRP reaches the inner layers of skin, where it aids in the regeneration of fresh skin. Additionally, PRP can help improve circulation, restoring a youthful glow to dull skin.

Microneedling with PRP can safely and effectively resurface the skin using minimally-invasive treatment and the body’s natural resources. Results may vary from patient to patient, but most patients experience long-lasting, subtle enhancement that lasts for several months.
