Fraxel Laser Post-Care Instructions

Follow these Frax 1540 care instructions after your Fraxel Laser appointment. Your provider may give you personalized instructions based on your treatment area and skin response.

Frax 1540 Care Instructions

Your skin needs gentle care while it heals. Protect the treated area, keep it moisturized, and avoid products or activities that can irritate your skin.

After Your Treatment

  • Begin using an occlusive ointment, like Aquaphor, after treatment and during the healing process.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks.
  • Use SPF 30+ and reapply every 2 hours.
  • Avoid ingredients like retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and acne creams for 1 week.
  • Avoid exfoliating for 2 weeks.
  • Avoid picking or scrubbing the treated area, and do not disturb any scabs or blisters that may form.

First 72 Hours

The micro-channels created during your treatment may remain open for up to 72 hours. To prevent infection and support proper healing, follow these precautions.

  • Avoid applying makeup.
  • Limit heat exposure. Do not engage in activities that heat your body, such as exercise, hot showers, and saunas.
  • Avoid swimming, especially in pools with chemicals such as chlorine.

What to Expect

You may experience a moderate sunburn-like sensation that typically resolves within 24 hours. Common post-treatment effects like redness, swelling, and blanching usually subside within 24-48 hours, although they may last up to 3-5 days for some clients.
