Medical weight loss is a great way to assist in your weight loss journey. These instructions cover a few directions on taking your medication and tips to help maximize your weight loss.
Each time we see you, a prescription is given for a month's supply of Phentermine. Make your next appointment each time you leave so you do not run out of your prescription. Phentermine will be prescribed for a total of 3 months, and then we recommend taking a break from the medication. Continue your lifestyle modifications while off the prescription.
Take your medication each morning when you wake up and keep an empty stomach for at least 2 hours. This helps the medication fully absorb and start working to suppress your appetite so you can decrease your caloric intake throughout the day.
Jitteriness can be a side effect of this medication. Limiting caffeine can help reduce it. To minimize jitteriness, we start you on a lower-strength prescription and increase over time if you tolerate it well.
Rare but potential side effects include rapid heart rate, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, swelling of the hands or feet, and insomnia. Stop taking the medication and call Beauty Lab if you experience any of these rare side effects.
Results with Phentermine take time and must be combined with lifestyle modifications to see noticeable weight loss. Helpful habits include meal planning, exercise, adequate rest, decreasing alcohol intake, reducing sugar intake, and increasing everyday physical activity.
If you have any unusual, severe, or concerning reaction after taking your weight loss medication, contact our office or a medical provider. Contact Beauty Lab + Laser right away for new or worsening side effects.
