Laser Hair Removal Post-Care Instructions
Help skin settle by limiting heat, friction, and irritating products. Follow your provider’s personalized instructions.
First 24–48 hours
- Keep the area clean. Avoid sweating, strenuous exercise, tight clothing, fragrance, deodorant, makeup, retinoids, exfoliating acids, and harsh skincare on treated skin for 24–48 hours.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, hot yoga, and excessive heat for at least 24 hours. Wash gently and pat dry without rubbing.
Soothe and protect
- Redness and bumps may last 24–48 hours. Use a cool compress, cloth-wrapped cold pack, or provider-approved aloe. Never apply ice directly to skin.
- Avoid direct sun for 2 weeks. Use broad-spectrum SPF 45+ outdoors, shade, and protective clothing. Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours outdoors.
Before exfoliating
- Do not exfoliate irritated skin. Ask your provider when gentle care for ingrown hairs is safe.
- Keep acids and harsh exfoliants off the area during the initial 24–48-hour pause. Wait longer if irritation remains; ask when to resume prescription products.
When to get help
- Call Beauty Lab + Laser promptly for blisters, burns, increasing pain, spreading redness, or swelling worsening after 48 hours. Seek urgent care for severe symptoms or if the clinic is unavailable.
- Call 911 for trouble breathing, throat or tongue swelling, or collapse.
