Microneedling Post-Care Instructions
Follow these post-care notes after your Microneedling appointment. Your provider may give you personalized instructions based on your treatment type and skin response.
Care Instructions
- Treat the area with care to avoid infection. The micro-channels created during treatment stay open for 24-48 hours.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks.
- Avoid applying makeup for 24-48 hours.
- Avoid heating your body up, including exercise, hot showers, and saunas, for 72 hours.
- Avoid active topical ingredients like AHAs, BHAs, and retinols for 1 week.
- Avoid exfoliants and scrubs for 1 week.
- Use SPF 30+.
- If you received Mega Microneedling with PDGF, avoid any products or washing your face for at least 6 hours.
Mega Microneedling
If you received Mega Microneedling with PDGF, avoid using products or washing your face for at least 6 hours after treatment unless your provider tells you otherwise.
What to Expect
Your skin may appear pink or red after treatment, similar to a mild sunburn. You may also experience dryness, flaking, swelling, or tenderness in the treatment area. These responses usually subside within 2-3 days post treatment.
